Castings by Willo Johnston. Directed by Jenny Eastop
This is a rehearsed reading of a new play, "Castings", that will be filmed to send to funding bodies and production companies. The premise of the play is as follows:
A friendship that turns to rivalry. In a business without mercy. "Castings" is the story of two actors, best friends at drama school, rivals for 30 years in the business. As they live through three decades of jealousy, bitterness and the odd bit of audition sabotage, can they find a way back?
There will be an optional entry fee of £5 to cover the cost of the venue hire and actors’ expenses (bus fare home!). Please find a link to book your ticket here. The reading should run for 1 hour and 15 minutes.
