Music, Memories and Miners

We would be delighted if you could join us for this event to mark the 40th anniversary of the Miners’ Strike and role played by the Club and its members. We shall be showcasing Ewan McColl and Peggy Seeger’s album Daddy, What Did You Do in the Strike? with an evening of reminiscence and song, so bring your stories and memories!
Provisional schedule
7.30pm – we shall be showing some audio-visual material (contemporary news reports etc) to give a brief background
8.00pm – personal reminiscences and contributions by members, and the story of the Daddy, What Did You Do in the Strike? recording and how it came to be discovered in the club office - do please share your stories and memories if you were involved at the time!
8.45pm a musical set featuring Colin Lomas, Ralph Brookfield and others, followed by an opportunity to buy a copy of Daddy, What Did You Do in the Strike?
